Generally, for people with a healthy mouth, we recommend our patients to visit us every six months. For patients with certain oral risks, and those with high-risk factors for periodontal disease, we will often recommend more frequent visits to address these specific issues.
During your dental exam appointment we will collect information about your overall health, including any medical conditions and/or allergies you may have. This information gives us a clearer picture of your oral health and how to best tailor our services to each patient.
One of our experienced dental hygienists will take care of the first part of your exam which may include x-rays and a thorough cleaning of your teeth and gums. During this process the hygienist will look for any issues and report them to the dentist.
